Ken Delay, Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh...

I'm starting to feel like I'm losing the battle...the "conservative" battle. My faith in this country is even taking some hits. Just doing an image search for an American flag for this blog entry, I got numerous responses that had nude or scantily clad men and women using the flag as a background. I won't even go the route of why I feel that degrades the flag but it seems symbolic of how far this country, i.e., you and I, has fallen.

We are at war. That, for my friends in this land, is "WE." All of us. Yet most of what I'm hearing from our unbiased media is:

President Bush is going to be tried for war crimes. President Bush is the reason North Korea is testing missiles. President Bush is the reason the ozone hole is getting larger, President Bush is the reason we are at war... ad nausem.

At a time when we should be concentrating on giving our soldiers in harm's way EVERYTHING they need to win this war, we are, instead, tying their hands by debating whether they were too rough on the enemy, whether they are actually doing their job. Well, they are NOT doing their job. The military's job is to attack and /or defend. Not to police.

Can you spell, gasp, K-O-R-E-A and V-I-E-T-N-A-M ?

While I'm certainly not for  "no rules" warfare, I'm not real happy with "tie their hands behind their backs" warfare either. And the latter is what we have today, thanks to constant political turmoil here in the States.

Democrats bad, Republicans good. Republicans bad, Democrats good. Hillary "moving" to the center to get elected. President Bush "moving" to the left to appease.

The United Nation, although funded mostly by the U.S. and operating on U.S. soil, has never been our ally. We get stabbed in the back on every occasion. We hear how much the world hates us and then, when the world needs our military or our money, how we need to be there for them. After we lose many of our sons and daughters, as well as spending trillions, we hear how "gross" we are, how "imperialistic" we are, how "American" we are. I think it's time to say do it yourself. We'll sit back, for a change, and let you work your own problems out.

I read someone's opinion that we should not censure the news at all during war, i.e. the New York Times, because had we known how horrible World War I was, we would have "saved" millions of lives. Huh? Here's a newsflash...people, both warriors and civilians, die horrible deaths in war. What rational person wouldn't know that?

Of course, what rational person would say:

"President Bush is not MY President." Yes he is...

"Liberals are destroying this country." No they are not...

You know what is really destroying this country? The disease of "lackof."

Lack of a backbone.

Lack of morals...and morale.

Lack of REAL patriotism.

Lack of a knowledge of history.

Lack of resilience.

Lack of faith.

America, turn off your televisions, close your newspapers, dust off your minds, open your eyes, and stand up on your OWN feet.

It's time to be an American, without apology.
