Although it's not officially "OFFICIAL," the 2008 Presidential political season has begun. Seeing as my "guns" are locked and loaded I might as well start shooting away. Here's some Bin Obama quotes and my take on them...and him. "Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek." What change is that, Senator Bin Obama? Give us some meat and potatoes, dude. What are you going to "change" and where should we get our "hope" from? We're just clinging to our guns and Bibles down here and you need to draw us a picture... "It's not surprising, then, they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations." Why, thank you Mr. Bin Obama, for summing up my life philosophy. And, yes, I plan on clinging to my gun and Bible, especially if you're in the White House in January 2009. I mean you no harm but your buddies from the Middle East and Africa might mean me harm! "It took a lot of blood, sweat and tears to get to where we are today, but we have just begun. Today we begin in earnest the work of making sure that the world we leave our children is just a little bit better than the one we inhabit today." Why, thank you once again Senator Bin Obama, for thinking of my kids and grandkids. Of course, I would have NEVER wished and worked for a better world for my children had you not explained it to me. I'm sure my grandkids will love those turbans and veils! And the free health care and $.001 a gallon gas.... "No one is pro-abortion." Well, we sure know those millions of dead babies aren't.... "There is not a liberal America and a conservative America - there is the United States of America. There is not a black America and a white America and Latino America and Asian America - there's the United States of America." Really? Then let's put an end to churches that "preach" African heritage and loyalty to foreign countries. Let's stop calling ourselves ANYTHING but American. Not African-American, no more Hispanic-American. I'm not Irish-American. I have absolutely no loyalty to Ireland. I AM FULL BLOODED AMERICAN. Until you people drop your past and embrace America ONLY, you can kiss my red, white, and blue... "Today we are engaged in a deadly global struggle for those who would intimidate, torture, and murder people for exercising the most basic freedoms. If we are to win this struggle and spread those freedoms, we must keep our own moral compass pointed in a true direction." Are you talking about the Bush Administration or your camel jockey African friends? Or maybe both? How did you feel on 9/11/2001, Senator Bin Obama? Happy? Sad? Did you watch those burning people jump from 98 stories up? Did you read about the human hand found, still bound, on top of one of the nearby buildings? The "true direction" remains the same. Crushing the enemy without mercy. Period. "If you're walking down the right path and you're willing to keep walking, eventually you'll make progress." Sounds like President George W. Bush in a nutshell to me, Senator Bin Obama. "We need to internalize this idea of excellence. Not many folks spend a lot of time trying to be excellent." Thank you, Senator Bin Obama, for pointing out a lot of us don't strive to be excellent. How arrogant are you, Obama, to think you can define or even judge what "excellence" is. Being able to group 8 shots in a inch at 50 yards with your 1911 is one way of being excellent. Memorizing hundreds of Biblical Scriptures is one way to be excellent. Teaching your boys to be gentlemen and your girls to be ladies. Please define YOUR idea of excellence, Senator Bin Obama. Seriously, Senator Obama, tell us something substantial. Tell us how you're going to bring us hope. Tell us how you're going to change this country. Make me sorry I ever made fun of you in this blog. It's all in the details. And, so far, I ain't heard anything but the same old stuff. You speak well, Senator. But you scare me. You act like the proverbial petulant little child. You sway with the political winds. One thing I'll always admire about the current President is that he doesn't care about the polls, he cares about the country. And you and your friends can argue that point until your blue in the face and you'll not change my mind on that. I just hope one day I can say that about you, Senator Obama. Please, should you be elected, make me wrong.
