Happy
Birthday, America! I've always been proud (and felt lucky) to be an
American. Always will. This, with all it's problems, is still by far
the greatest country on the face of the Earth.
Speaking of the world, Live 8 is (has?) happened again. let's help
Africa by forgiving all their debt. Hogwash. We keep pouring money
into that continent and the entire world will go broke. Tell them to straighten
out their corrupt governments and then maybe we'll help then. Can you
say Somalia?
While I have
to admit I'd watch the concert because of Jon Bon Jovi and Richie
"married to Heather" Sambora, I'd like to know why we only
hear about how these stars are "donating" their time and
talent to help Africa? A source of mine close to the Concert told me
that EACH performer, not each band, got a $12,000 "gift
bag." How many performers were there? 100? 200? That's between
1.5 to 2.5 million dollars right there! And what about how much the
sponsors will make? Perhaps they should donate their money to help?
No, instead
we hear how ONE person can help. One person shouting out loud. One
person. We can't even get some of these same Americans to go vote in a
Presidential election but they will shout about how there are dying
children in Africa. I don't want to rain on your parade but we have
those in our own country. Get off your butt and turn off the concert
and stop spending billions on their CD's and then you can try and make
me feel bad about the rest of the world. Take your money and your time
and put it where your butt is.
How some
people think has always confused me. Or maybe how they DON'T think and
will follow the "famous" like sheep....
